Trigenics Myoneural Medicine

Trigenics is a neurological treatment system designed to reset the neurological reflex pathways between the brain and body to instantly eliminate pain, strengthen muscles, and accelerate soft tissue healing.

Trigenics uses three proven treatment techniques which, when combined synergistically facilitate the activity of nerve-system pathways that immediately eliminate pain, strengthen muscles, and accelerate soft-tissue healing. It involves applying a simultaneous combination of reflex neurology, nerve-muscle manipulation, and breathing biofeedback. Clinically, the cumulative effect makes Trigenics faster, painless, longer lasting and genuinely more effective than any other treatment or system. It is the objective of Trigenics treatment to alter neurological control to create a change in the “tone” or functional behavior and abilities of tissues. Restoration of normal sensorimotor function in the early stages post-injury will tend to prevent the development of more chronic ramifications such as adhesion formation. Generally, joint manipulation is seen as treating aberrant osteology and arthrokinetics (subluxations/fixations); soft tissue treatment techniques are seen to treat aberrant histology ( myofascial adhesions) and Trigenics treats aberaant neurology (dysafferentation). Treatment is neurologically based rather than mechanically based. There is no joint manipulation involved with this treatment.

Trigenics can, therefore be seen as the “missing element” to total sustainable care. Trigenics is remarkably effective in providing correction, functional restoration and/or relief for all musculoskeletal conditions, chronic pain syndromes, neurological conditions, and any local or systemic somatic conditions. Clinically, advanced applications of Trigenics enable the practitioner to neurologically strengthen or lengthen a muscle in seconds.  Patients are interactive participants rather than passive participants in the treatment process. Trigenics is widely versatile in its applications and patient base.

The cumulative beneficial effect, when applied to athletes during successive sessions and immediately prior to competition, enables measurably enhanced performance. Trigenics is used to treat the patient holistically/systemically from an Eastern medicine perspective via stimulation and balancing of the body’s meridian systems. For rehabilitation, Trigenics is very effective as an active-resisted exercise and/or treatment protocol, and in the acute and chronic stages of recovery and, because proprioceptive restoration is achieved earlier, than usual, recovery time is reduced with less intractable damage or changes of tissue properties.

The basic premise of Trigenics treatment methodology revolves around the fact that injury or stress to muscles or soft tissues causes insult to mechanoreceptors. This in turn leads to a state of dysafferentation Seaman/Winterstein, JfMPT 1998 (aka de-afferentation) with consequent neurological inhibition or over-facilitation of muscles making them either functionally weak or short. This in turn, leads to a compensatory imbalance pattern developing throughout the entire kinetic chain, which cause aberrant local and global arthrokinetics. Trigenics employs the use of 5 treatment methods with the  2 most common being Trigenics Myoneural strengthening (TS) and Trigenics Myoneural Lenghtening (TL) to correct functional imbalances through restoration of sensorimotor control and function on segmental and suprasegmental levels. When dysefferentation exists, standard rehabilitation will prove ineffective as neurologically inhibited weak, muscles will not strengthen fully and neurologically over-facilitated, short muscles will return to a shortened state following stretching. Joint manipulation will also not be sustainable as fixation patterns will return. Trigenics Myoneural Medicine provides the key to sustainable full functional restoration.
